For Java versions 6 and below, Apple supplies their own version of Java. For Mac OS X 10.6 and below, use the Software Update feature (available on the Apple menu) to check that you have the most up-to-date version of Java 6 for your Mac. For issues related to Apple Java 6 on Mac, contact Apple Support. Oracle and Java.com only support Java 7. Under Java Preferences, I see 'Java SE 6' from 'Apple Inc.' For both CPU-types '32-bit' and '64-bit' version '1.6.026-b03-383'. I have changed the preferred order to put the 32-bit version on top of the 64-bit version, hoping that this would make the 32-bit version default. Java is a runtime environment maintained by Oracle that you must install on your Mac to be able to run applications written using the Java programming language. Hello,
I am new to mac and recently received a MBP as a gift. My operating system is OS X 10.9.5 (Mavericks). I apologize if this has been answered numerous times in the forum but I have not been able to find a solution to my problem.
I am trying to install Java for one website that my firm uses for VPN Remote Desktop connections. My colleagues use both Mac's and PC's to connect without a problem through this website. Java is required to run the scripts for our RSA token keys, the script is Array Solutions.

I recently tried to connect and was prompted to download the latest version of Java. I believe is was version 8. I downloaded the file and installed without a hitch. I checked my security settings etc. to make sure all was in order.
Java Se 6 For Mac
When I visited the site, I was prompted to accept the user certificate and allowed the site access to Java. It started to work and then I received a pop up window indicating that I need to install the most current version of Java. The strange part is that I have it. Needless to say, I was not able to gain access because my Java isn't working.
Is there a solution to this? Will I need to bring my Mac to my neighborhood store and have one the Geniuses configure my system?
Cheers,
W.
